clotch is a price comparison site for premium and contemporary fashion. We do not sell anything. We show you which shops carry a piece and what each of them is charging today, including the delivery and import duty that only appear at checkout.

Why we built it

Every shop says everything is reduced. A coat appears at “40% off” against a price nobody has paid in two years, and there is no way for a shopper to tell the difference between a real reduction and a sticker.

So we started writing it down. Every piece we carry, at every stockist, once a day. After a year of that we can answer the question people actually have — is this cheap, or is it just cheaper than last week — with a number rather than an opinion.

What makes us different from a shop

  • We rank by what you actually pay. A £215 shirt posted from outside the UK can land at over £300 once duty and the courier’s clearance fee are added. We work that out and sort by the total, not the headline.
  • We only call something reduced when it is. Our badge compares today’s price against the middle of every price we have recorded for that piece — not against a recommended price somebody invented.
  • We track stock by size. The cheapest shop rarely has the size you wear, and a price you cannot buy is not a price.

How we make money

When you click through to a stockist and buy something, that shop pays us a commission. It never changes the price you pay, and it never changes the order offers appear in — those are sorted cheapest first, always, regardless of which shop pays us more.

That rule is the whole business. A comparison site that quietly reorders its results for money is worth nothing to anybody, and we would rather lose the commission than the reason to exist.
