This page explains what we collect and why. We collect as little as we can, because the less we hold the less there is to look after.

What we collect

  • Your email address, if you give it to us for price alerts or the newsletter. We use it to send you what you asked for, and nothing else. Every message has an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing deletes the address.
  • Standard server logs — the page requested, the time, a browser identifier and an IP address. These are kept briefly for security and diagnosis.
  • Analytics about which pages are read, so we know what to improve.

We do not ask for your name, address or payment details, and we never see them. When you buy something you buy it from the retailer, on their site, under their terms.

Cookies and affiliate tracking

When you click through to a stockist, the affiliate network that retailer uses sets a cookie so the shop knows the visit came from us and can pay our commission. That cookie is set by the network, not by us, and it is how the site is funded.

Blocking those cookies does not change your price or stop you buying — it only means we are not paid for the referral.

Who else sees your data

Our hosting provider, our email provider and the affiliate networks, each only as far as their part requires. We do not sell data to anybody, and we do not share your email address with retailers.

Your rights

Under UK and EU data protection law you can ask what we hold about you, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for it to be deleted. Write to hello@clotch.shop and we will deal with it within thirty days.

You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.

Changes

If this policy changes we will update the date at the top. Material changes will be announced to anybody on the mailing list.
